Coprodeli USA's Journey of Support and Solidarity

After arriving in Peru as a Spanish missionary in 1983, Padre Miguel Ranera immediately recognized the dire needs of the slums surrounding Lima. In response, he founded the Coprodeli Foundation in 1989. Over the years, Coprodeli has evolved its model from intervention to prevention and sustainable development, focusing on education, entrepreneurship, and protecting the young.

Today, over 375,000 Peruvian individuals benefit annually from Coprodeli's comprehensive approach, addressing education, children at high risk, preventive health, humanitarian aid, employment generation, and housing.

Evolution of Programs & Sites

In 1993, Coprodeli inaugurated its first school in Callao, expanding its model to include multiple schools, clinics, and outreach centers throughout the '90s. The model continued to evolve, addressing root causes of poverty, including preventive health and support for children in high-risk situations.

By 2001, Coprodeli expanded to Pachacutec, combining various programs into a structured and holistic model. The organization is currently expanding to the Ica Region and the San Martín jungle.

Expanding to Additional Regions

ICA

Following the 2007 earthquake in the Ica Region, Coprodeli engaged in rebuilding infrastructure and revitalizing local economies. Expanding its model, Coprodeli now includes urban development initiatives alongside traditional programs, facilitating communities' comprehensive exit from poverty.

SAN MARTÍN:

In 2011, Coprodeli committed to addressing the needs of jungle communities. To become self-sustaining, a Coprodeli agricultural school in the San Martín jungle was established, teaching sustainable agricultural practices and generating funds through produce sales. This expansion consolidates Coprodeli's 24 years of experience, emphasizing self-sustaining change in marginalized communities.
